Key Information

Age Requirements Overview

  • Most states set the age of majority at 18
  • Special considerations for states like Alabama and Nebraska (19)
  • International age requirements vary by region
  • Family accounts available for younger children

Family Accounts: Parents can create and manage Family Accounts for children below the minimum age requirement.

Mandatory Reporting

As a tutoring provider working with minors, Kids on the Yard is committed to child safety everywhere we operate:

  • All staff are mandatory reporters regardless of state or country
  • Immediate reporting of suspected abuse
  • Confidential reporting processes
  • Zero tolerance policy for abuse

Emergency: Dial 9-1-1 (or your local emergency number outside the U.S.) if there is an immediate threat to a child's safety.

Service Footprint and Staff Locations

Kids on the Yard offers online services worldwide and in-person services nationwide across the United States only. All Kids on the Yard staff who work with students are mandated reporters under the laws of the jurisdiction where the child is located.

Emergency fallback: For non-emergency reporting where you cannot reach the correct state agency, use the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline: 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) — staffed 24/7 by professional counselors. For immediate danger, call 9-1-1.

The table below lists statewide hotlines that Kids on the Yard has verified directly from state government websites. For any state not listed, see the complete State Child Welfare Agency Websites directory.
