Background Check Fee Disclosure

Fee Amount

A one-time background check fee of $35.00 USD is required as part of the application process.

What the Fee Covers

This fee covers a comprehensive background check conducted by Checkr, Inc., which includes:

• National criminal records search
• Sex offender registry check
• Social Security number trace
• County court records search (where applicable)

Payment Terms

• The fee is collected via secure credit/debit card payment through Stripe
• Payment is processed at the time you initiate the background check (Stage 12 of the application)
• This is a one-time, non-recurring charge

Refund Policy

• If your application is approved and you complete 5 qualifying tutoring sessions within 90 days of approval, the $35.00 fee will be reimbursed as an onboarding bonus credit
• If you withdraw your application before the background check is initiated, no fee is charged
• Once the background check has been submitted to Checkr, the fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome

Important Notes

• This fee is separate from and independent of any contractor relationship with Kids on the Yard
• Payment of this fee does not guarantee approval of your application
• The background check is one component of a multi-step review process
• If you cannot afford this fee and believe you qualify for a hardship waiver, contact support before initiating the check
